Another year comes to a close. Compared to 2024, 2025 was quite a bit quieter, but we still had some treats. In January, we got the trailer for A Thousand Blows with our first glimpse of the Earl of Lonsdale in all his showy, flamboyant glory.
February was a very busy month. Actually, it was a very busy week of February 17-23. First, we received news that Adam had joined the cast of Star City, the spin-off of Apple TV’s alternative history show For All Mankind. Adam will be playing Valya, “a highly respected cosmonaut within the Soviet Space program.” Years ago on the BAFTA 60 Second Challenge, Adam said that he had wanted to be an astronaut when he was a kid, so it’s great that he’s going to play one. Star City is set to air in 2026.
On February 21, the first season of A Thousand Blows aired. Adam’s portrayal of Hugh Lowther, Earl of Lonsdale (Lonny Boy as he’s called in the show) was full of tightly-wound energy and perfectly captured the Earl’s sportsmanship, while also depicting a tense, more insecure side. It was also fun to see Adam show off his boxing skills in the scene where Lonsdale spars with Hezekiah Moscow (Malachi Kirby).
That same weekend, the Hickey Playlist for Davechella was released. Davechella was a fifteen-week event where Dave Kajganich created playlists imagining what the Terror characters might listen to if they lived today, with some contributions from the cast. Hickey was the first character with two playlists, inspired a question Dave K had about whether modern!Hickey would be receiving any kind of treatment or help that Victorian!Hickey had no access to. Adam couldn’t choose between Nina Simone’s “Don’t Smoke in Bed” and Ella Fitzgerald and the Delta Rhythm Boys’ “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” so Dave used them both, Simone’s for the Undiagnosed playlist and Fitzgerald’s for the With Treatment playlist.
Spring and Summer were very quiet. June 7 was Adam’s 40th birthday. Many very talented fans collaborated to create a fanbook for Adam. It was sent to his agency, and we hope it brought a smile to his face. We also created a digital version, which can be seen here. In July, we got a new bts photo from Red Rose of Adam with Michael Patrick Clarkson and Paul Clarkson. Always love to see the Red Rose hair!
In October, The Gold’s first season aired on PBS. It was very nice seeing Adam’s portrayal of Micky McAvoy again, although we were disappointed that PBS cut several of McAvoy’s scenes in the final episode, which greatly changed his character arc!
This year, we also received two fantastic guest posts, “Margot’s Visit to Branwell’s Home” and “The Work of Adam Nagaitis: Celebrating the Comedy within the Drama.” These were wonderful, and we’re very grateful for your contributions!
Looking forward to Star City and what else is store for 2026! Happy New Year!
