Hey friends! Here we are at Britbox’s Ep4! I’ve been waiting for this one! Bad Franny behavior in the drive thru, cute times with his little one, being sweet with Debs, scary with everyone else. I watched this one on Wednesday night because the first NFL pre-season game was on Thursday night, and I didn’t feel right putting Franny off for football. Nobody puts Franny in the corner! Especially this Vernon guy. Whooooo boy, that guy wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed!
Goddamn Ray is still sticking his nose in the situation. He had someone look up Franny in an old bail book from 2010 and found all of Franny’s sweet, sweet love-poems to Debs. I was laughing at this part, sorry Franny! It was so corny it was CUTE as hell! I mean…
For real??
OMG…FRANNY!! HAHAHA!!! This is adorable. Is this how they fell in love? Were they already together? How did all this start? We need some facts up in here! Debs, did you think this was corny and romantic?? I know our girl had to be on board with these sweet shenanigans right from the start. Who could resist cute little Franny with his big blue eyes? Not Debs, that’s for sure. I’m there for it.
While Ray’s getting his info, Franny’s at home having a nice night with his family. He terrorizes his kid at a videogame. He kisses Debs goodnight and says he’s leaving. I take it Franny doesn’t live there because of their rather unique circumstances. As tender as they are together, thinking about that makes me sad. They love each other, have a little one together, but can’t be together because of way too many questionable life choices.
Chris finally finds Vernon and figures out what Franny’s after. It’s his EncroPhone with all his drug empire’s info on it. Vernon got stuck holding on to Franny’s phone after Hodgkin stole it and was blackmailing Franny with it. Well, Hodgkin is no more, and here’s Vernon very worried about joining him in the hereafter. He should be, because Franny catches up to him. I’m not going to rag on Franny’s drive-thru ATTAC too hard though. I felt about ready to punch Vernon one too. Dude is one annoying little pudge.
Franny now knows Chris has his Encro, so he’s blowing Chris’s phone up with about a million texts, voicemails and calls. He’s going to follow you straight to hell to get that phone Chris. He’s tracking Chris all over Liverpool and constantly calling and harassing. Chris can’t get no peace! He ends up on Jodie’s couch getting some sleep, hiding from Franny’s onslaught. I still don’t know how Chris operates on the daily. Damn, he sure goes through it. Chris, you may not feel like a superhero, but you’re made from some strong shit, because most people I know couldn’t handle 5 minutes of being you.
Jodie sells Chris out though, because she needs a little help. She answers one of Franny’s calls and offers up her address. I have to say, Franny’s voice on the phone is like…oh my. HOW can this little man, who’s so sweet at home, such a loving daddy, with a voice like smooth chocolate, be the same little man that beats the shit out of people in drive-thru’s, deals drugs, and murders rivals? This is SO often what happens to us fans of Adam Nagaitis. We’re often conflicted and feel like we’re not supposed to be falling for these characters he plays, yet we do. Every damn time.
So far, Franny’s got me laughing and then feeling sad in the space of a couple minutes. His goofy love poems and doodles in that bail book are heart-meltingly cute, then he’s kicking someone’s ass and dropping nasty messages all over Chris’s voicemail. Franny, are you one of the most conflicting of all the Nagaitis-baddies? I’d always say it was Hickey that made me feel the most internal conflict, but Hickey didn’t have the extreme swings between tenderness and brutality the way Franny has. We did see Hickey and Billy have some ‘moments’ but it wasn’t like Franny and Debs and their little one. Not even close. Hickey was always manipulating. Franny straight-up loves his fam. Just don’t fuck with them…or his damn phone.
Alrighty friends! Time for ep 5 next week. Only two more to go? How are these weeks going so fast? I’m still proud of myself for showing restraint and not binging the series! 😀 Have a happy week!
