Branwell Brontë is the only son in the Brontë family. As a child, he invented stories and fantasy worlds with his sisters Charlotte, Emily, and Anne. Intelligent and clever, Branwell aspires to be an artist and writer but struggles with the pressures put on him by his father. After a disastrous affair with his employer’s wife dashes Branwell’s hopes, his life rapidly spirals out of control as he descends into alcoholism and addiction.
