What is it with Quinn and Sundays? I’m always talking about him on a Sunday. Maybe it’s because that’s when TWD used to come on and we’d get to see him, or maybe it’s because Sundays are hard, and I need something comforting to get my mind off the upcoming work week. Yuck, the ‘Sunday Scaries’. At least last week I was distracted by the Superbowl. BTW, how ’bout them CHIEEEEEEFFFS!!!! Yes, I am a Chiefs fan. I’ve been a Chiefs fan since before all the Taylor Swift hype, which I enjoyed immensely because yes, I am also a Taylor Swift fan. But I digress. We’re here to touch base about my Quinn rabbit hole projects and how it’s all going. If we get a little distracted along the way, please forgive me!
I’ve decided I want to start with the ‘neon skulls’ pillows ‘for’ The Demimonde. I’m going to use the Hobbii Silly Socks Disco yarn. This yarn DOES glow under a blacklight. How bad ass would that look in an underground Paris nightclub? Seriously! You had to wind your way along the skull-lined catacombs of Paris to get to this nightclub and when you get there, they’ve got all this wild-colored velvet furniture, and pillows with glowing skull motifs to cuddle up into as you sip your first Zombie Martini of the evening with the CUTEST club-owner you’ve ever set eyes on. Said cute club-owner pictured below for anyone that needs a refresher. Are you home yet? I am!
I don’t think I mentioned last time that I’m already working on a skull-themed afghan for a friend. It’s almost finished and when it is, I’ll start on all the Demimonde home decor projects. Here’s a pic of my progress so far on the afghan. This pattern is freakin’ FIRE! I love it! I almost don’t want to part ways with it when it’s done, but as high as that temptation might be its got a home already, and it’s going there when it’s done. The yarn I used on this afghan is ‘fatter’ than what I’ll use on the pillows. I want to create a nice, tight fabric for those. I DO think I might crochet in some words on the back of the pillows like ‘Demimonde’ or ‘Quinn’ or other French phrases. I took French in high school, but I remember very little of it. I guess I could use Google Translate for some stuff but…
Damn, I wanna learn French. So, taking a right at this current rabbit hole, I end up at good ‘ole Duolingo (because it’s free!) trying to learn some French. Anyone else feel like joining me down here in this rabbit hole learning French? Hit me up on the socials and let me know. We can be Duolingo friends!
Maybe I’ll be back next week with some more rambling? Have a good week anyone who’s reading this!
