While Rick is held hostage by The Gardener, Wren struggles to get to him. When she finally finds him, she’s forced to take extreme measures. Rick takes the fall for her actions and ends up under arrest.

Wren is horrified to discover that Rick has been taken hostage by Red Rose and is in extreme danger.

Wren meets up with Rick at Blackpool. He tells her not to be like him and she’s confused by his behavior. Later, it’s results-time and Wren comes home to find Rachel and Rick eager to see how she did in her last year of school. Things don’t go well, however. The stress over Wren seems to bring Rick and Rachel together and they end up going to the pub with friends later. Just when it seems they’re getting even closer, Rick leaves the pub. Someone appears to be following his movements though.

Simon, under the influence of Red Rose, kidnaps and chases Wren with intent to do her harm. In the end he couldn’t carry out his orders and ends up falling to his death in front of Wren’s friends, Rachel, and Rick.

Rachel isn’t happy to see Rick at her door. She chases him away, but he’s back later and more concerned about a video he thinks Wren sent him. While he and Rachel heatedly discuss this, Simon turns up for his date with Rachel and ends up goading Rick into a physical confrontation.

Rick meets Wren in a church to have a talk. He’s the only one that believes her, even when she tries to show him Red Rose and it hides.

Only a very brief shot of Rick at Roch’s funeral in the cemetery, lending support to Wren from a distance.
