Micky McAvoy, the elite gold thief! The big Brinks-Mat heist of 1983 started with Micky McAvoy’s gang making off with millions of pounds worth of gold. The police eventually catch up with Micky, and he spends some time in prison. While there, he does end up marrying his love, Kathleen. The real Micky McAvoy was released from prison in 2000, however the series only shows events up to his prison wedding to Kathleen.
